RISA, Malad West
Malad SV Road has long been known as a great spot for shaadi shopping, for both men and women. One of the top spots to head to is Kothari Milestone, a mini-mall of sorts that houses RISA - short for Rinkesh and Sanchi. The brand is well known for designing lehengas, bridal trousseaus and friend-of-the-bride outfits, while making sure the bill doesn’t get too high! We’ve heard they’re happy to customize outfits even for smaller occasions, like poojas and Diwalis!

Rozina, Bandra West
Starting this list off with a bougie option that does luxury pret-a-porter but is happy to customize designs for you. Their designs are available at Pernia’s, but head to the boutique at Hill Road, and the team will help you out if you have a particular idea of what you want made-to-order. Rozina aces feminine silhouettes and has a ton of Indo-Western options, from dhoti pants to mesh skirts!

Sapna’s Design Studio, Chembur
This well-loved designer studio has been around for over 30 years and, in this time, has managed to garner a lot of trust from discerning shaadi shoppers. Delivering worldwide, the brand now allows you to place online orders through their Insta, too, and, of course, does customizations, too. The boutique is near Amar Cinema in Chembur and is definitely worth a visit if you want to infuse your dream outfit with creative flair - think a bejewelled back, a dramatic cape, or a long dupatta that wears like a pallu!

Archie’s Designer Wear, Ghatkopar
Another small business that has been around for over 20 years, Archie's Designer Wear, has been a favourite for ladies in the Eastern suburbs who want to create a custom outfit with their choice of fabric, design and fall. Whether it's a demure piece or one that reflects your bold personality, this designer can make sure it's done well! Being a small brand, they're happy to do multiple fittings, as well. They're well-loved by the NRI crowd and are very plus-size friendly.

Label Ginelle Alphonso, Santacruz West
Ginelle Alphonso is a young designer who focuses on making sure her designs are zero-waste, vegan and high-quality. This is another brand that’s down to let you channel your inner #baddie but also does modest and sanskaari designs with panache. If you’re a Gen Z sister, we think you’ll love her work - she’s designed stellar clothing for birthdays, while also acing bridal wear and trousseaus. The coolest part - she also designs vegan leather bags, often using the extra fabric from the outfit crafted for you, so you can probably score a bag that matches perfectly with your fit!

Sew & Hue Designer Boutique, Seawoods
While Navi Mumbai has a ton of designer boutiques, Sew & Hue happens to be a favourite, with patrons often remarking that “Manju is awesome!”. The designer has designed several customized wedding outfits, and has been trusted by many shaadi waale parivaars for mom, sister, and friend-of-the-bride fits. Her sense of style is always up-to-date, so if you want something that's new-age and trendy, this one's a great bet. Their curation of fabrics is wide, and the brand offers a great bang for your buck!

Asbaab by Madiha Farooq, Santacruz East
Kalina is home to this very discerning designer who employs colour theory and analyses your best features to make sure you shine, no matter what you get stitched from her. Asbaab happens to be another NRI favourite, and also has clients from all over India who fly down to Mumbai for consultations. The staff is very helpful and can accommodate all your wants, in case you've been cosplaying as Bridezilla. You can be upfront about your budget here - they're happy to make suggestions accordingly.

Rare Boutique is actually rare; unique is a way that they have some of the most bewitching designs when it comes to ethnic wear.
