The shop itself is not that big, but the range of things you can find here — you will find it difficult to pick up anywhere else. This space is an outlet by the Crafts Council of India (a voluntary, non-profit, registered organisation that works with a network of regional craft councils). They are known for their sarees, fabrics, stoles, and jewellery. You might shop a little bit of Shantiniketan, a little bit of Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan, all under one roof. This is an antique jewellery shop in the heart of New Market. Every piece is unique, antique, and customisable. The best place to shop for unusual silver jewellery, like coin necklaces, earrings, and rings with miniature paintings embedded in them, heavy Nepalese tribal silver necklaces, and bead necklaces of all shapes and sizes. It’s a Calcutta classic. Very demure, very cutesy! There is so much variety here — tiny silver tops starting from INR 120 to larger ones which might go up to INR 1,800, and heavy silver necklaces which start at INR 1,500 and can go up to around INR 15,000 depending on the amount of silver used in them.
