Although the uncertainty of water release from the Kadam Reservoir makes it slightly dangerous, it is a good weekend getaway place as the best seasons to visit the waterfalls are monsoon and post-monsoon times.

Bidar

Bidar is one of the most popular heritage sites located close to Hyderabad. It has immense historical importance and is known for its unique Bidri handicraft products. While you cannot trek here during the monsoon due to safety reasons, you can definitely head here for some quiet and good views.

Pocharam Dam & Sanctuary

Situated in Medak District of Telangana, this is an ideal place to visit during the monsoon from Hyderabad. It was known to be a former hunting ground for the Nizams of Hyderabad and the sanctuary is the homeland for many species of animals and birds. Boating is available here, but not advisable during the monsoon. You can also check out the Chinna Golconda or Medak Fort and the CSI Cathedral, both boasting immense historic significance while you're enroute the Dam.

Tamhini Ghat

Spend a day driving around the beach road, checking out the new cafés and of course, Kailasagiri as well. If you like museums, also check out the Submarine and Aircraft Museums. You can then get a train or a bus ride to Araku to enjoy stunning views of the mountains in the rains. We urge you to be extra careful on the ghats if you're driving by yourself. Ask the locals if a trip to Lambasingi is feasible, and wake up to the most breathtaking views you have ever seen.

Nagarjuna Sagar

A trip to the Nagarjuna Sagar becomes even more beautiful when the dam gates are opened. There's a high likelihood of this happening during the monsoon, so keep a tab on the news. The two-hour calm drive offers you great views of rice plantations along the way and a beautiful view of the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. You can visit the Nagarjuna Konda Island that hosts an archaeological museum with ancient Buddhist artefacts local to the area. You could also visit Vizag Colony if the weather permits and indulge in coracle rides and fresh homemade food prepared by locals.

The Kakatiya Fort Walls and intricately carved 1,000 pillar temple takes on a mystical old world charm, the nearby Pakhal and Laknavaram lakes shimmer under cloudy skies, Bogatha Falls look likes a hidden jungle retreat, and the Badhrakali Temple and Ramappa Temple look straight out of an indie movie.
