Durga Puja or Pujo is upon us, and if you can't make it home this time, don't worry, we've got you covered. We've curated some of our favourite Pujo pandals in Bangalore for this year. And while we agree that we may not be able to rival the Durga Puja scenes of Kolkata, these well-known pujas and pandals that have grown over the years and have made many a Bengali or for that matter, non-Bengalis, feel at home. Yes, these pandals are just about for anyone wanting to participate in the festivities.

Sarjapur Outer Ring Road Bengali Association (SORRBA), Sarjapur

Apart from the usual rituals, prayers and festivities at this puja, look out for theatre performances, gigs and dances. Plus the kids of SORRBA are very active too, so expect some cultural events from them too. Apart from this, stalls at the pandal will churn out the best of Kolkata street food, cooked by home chefs. From Sashti to Nabami, there are power-packed performances that include dandiya night, in-house cultural programmes, Bollywood concerts, and Dhunuchi Dance. 

When: Sunday, 28 September to Thursday, 2 October

Sarathi Socio-Cultural Trust Durga Puja, Koramangala

Celebrate the arrival of Maa Durga at Sarathi Socio-Cultural Trust's Koramangala Puja this year. This also means plenty of fun, dance, music, food, and spirituality. Catch performances by singer Tushar Joshi, Portia Sen, and of course don't miss out on the Dhunuchi Naach. Plus, there's plenty of bhog to keep your hunger pangs and cravings at bay. You can get yourself VIP Passes and bhog passes at this Durga puja pandal in Bangalore to enjoy it at its best.

Kanakapura Road Bengali Association (KARBA), Kanakpura Road

Touted to be the largest Pujo celebration in South Bangalore, Amader Pujo by the KARBA (Kanakapura Road Bengali Association) cultural troupe will kick off the Durga Puja 2025 celebrations with Sasthi puja and pave the way for a week of festivities and feasting. There is going to be dancing, singing and celebrating the valour of Maa Durga. While there, load up on some street-style Kolkata food and shop for interesting trinkets too.

Sanskritik Bengali Association Bangalore, JP Nagar

The Sanskritik Bengali Association Bangalore is another spot in South Bangalore that you can head to this year for Durga Puja celebrations in the city. There's going to be a Maha Shasti Puja to kick off the celebrations, and at the end of the week, don't miss out on the idol immersion. Plus, plenty of bhog, cultural performances, and activities that you can take part in to make the best of the festivities. These cultural events include traditional dances, music performances, recitations, dramas, and competitions, and these happen all throughout the festival.  

When: Sunday, 28 September to Thursday, 2 October

Best Time To Visit: Shasti for the Maha Shasti Puja and Dashami for the idol immersion

Bengali Association for HSR and Sarjapur (BARSHA), HSR

The Bengali Association for HSR and Sarjapur (BARSHA) is hosting a grand Durga Puja festival this year. If we are to go by last year's Victoria Memorial-themed pandal, then expect nothing short of grandeur this year as well. There will be a Yakshagana performance, the Karnataka Folk Dance, along with a Chau Dance performance. Apart from this, there will be musical performances by Senjuti Das of Indian Idol fame and a concert by Sourendro Soumyojit. There are also going to be over 30+ stalls that will be serving some of the best Bengali food there is. 

When: Sunday, 28 September to Thursday, 2 October

Best Time To Visit: All through the festival

Where: BARSHA Durga Puja Ground, Off Sarjapur Road, HSR Extension, Haralur

Electronic City Cultural Association (ECCA), Electronic City

For folks who live in the Electronic City part of the town, ECCA is doing Durga Puja with pomp and grandeur. It's their 13th year of doing this, and in addition to a convention centre with a food court and shopping bazaar, a cultural programme on all the days is expected. Don't miss out on the Dhunuchi naach. You can also look forward to bhog every day! 

When: Sunday, 28 September to Thursday, 2 October

Best Time To Visit: All through the festival and especially on the first and last two days 

Where: White Feather Convention Hall, NICE Toll Gate, Opp. Metro Wholesale, Electronic City 

Jayamahal Cultural Association (JCA) Durga Puja, Jayamahal

Jayamahal Durga Puja is another one of the oldest Durga pujas in Bangalore, and this year they are celebrating their 71st year. The food is some of the best we've had when we went here last year, so we are expecting the same this year as well. They are also doing a community bhog, a DJ dandiya night, and Dhunuchi naach performances, which are something to look forward to as well. 

When: Saturday, 27 September to Thursday, 2 October

Best Time To Visit: Don't miss out on the cultural events on Navami and Ashtami

Whitefield Cultural Association, Whitefield

The Whitefield Culture Association's Durga Puja is going to be a grand affair as always, with amazing food, shopping markets and dandiya. We recommend that if you are a non-Bengali staying on that side of the town, to find yourself some Bengali friends soon and make the festivities grand.
