Where To Eat

If you’re looking to be an adventurous eater, there’s no place better than Indiranagar to start this journey. This hood is brimming with restaurants that specialise in global cuisines -- think everything from Italian to Malayasian and Kolkata to Burmese.

You'll also find some of the best pubs and bars in Indiranagar. Burma Burma

The menu is all-vegetarian and extensive, along with a dedicated section just for tea. We highly recommend you start with the Samosa Soup and Lotus Stem Fritters, followed by the Burma Burma Oh No Khao Suey and the Chocolate Bubble Tea to wash everything down. Oh, the interiors are heavily influenced by the Burmese culture too.

Timings: 12 Noon to 3 PM and 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Phobidden Fruit Vietnamese Kitchen

One of the first stand-alone restaurants to bring Vietnamese cuisine to the city, Phobidden Fruit has been going strong for years now. The Insta-worthy set-up with plenty of light, plants, wooden picnic tables and benches is only a pleasant distraction. The real star here is the food. The beef Pho here is a beautiful, slow-brewed aromatic broth with slices of meat floating in it. It's reminiscent of those from the streets of Saigon. We also always order the Iceberg Lettuce Wraps served with a side of nuoc mam. If you prefer a quick meal, settle for the Banh mi and a glass of cold, Vietnamese-style coffee.

Timings: 12 Noon to 3 PM and 7 PM to 11 PM

Chianti

Trusty Italian is what you will get at Chianti. Be it the food, ambience or even the fine wine. Every meal here starts with DIY bruschetta. Skip the soups and salads, but definitely order yourself antipasti, the Crostini Con Carne with bits of Parma ham, chicken and pesto on crusty bread or the stringy Mozzarella Fritta is rather good. The pasta is the highlight here, especially the Carbonara, but if you’re looking to eat big, it’s the generously portioned, sticky, meaty Lamb Chops all the way.

Timings: 12 Noon to 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Chinita

Chinita is as authentic as it will get when it comes to Mexican food in Bangalore. We always start with the Almond Horchata, a classic Mexican drink, moving straight to the Braised Pork Tacos or the Prawns Grilled Tacos, that come with all the traditional fixings – roasted tomato salsa, jalapeños, sour cream, onions and a squeeze of lime. For dessert, it’s a sin not to order either the Churros or Chilli Chocolate Cake.

Timings: 12 Noon to 11 PM

Brik Oven

Visit Brik Oven Indiranagar for its signature pizzas, salads and breads, but also for its gorgeous interiors. It is, after all, this beloved pizzeria’s largest branch. There are beautiful green walls, plenty of al fresco seating and of course, a dominating brick oven. The menu features all our old favourites like the classic Margarita, Quattro Formaggi and our all-time champion -- the Streaking Pigs, generously topped with cheese, bacon, caramelised onions and tomato sauce. Definitely go carb-on-carb and order the Cheesy Garlic Bread for sides. Oh, and did we tell you that they have breakfast options too, so do one weekend or even a weekday breakfast scene with your friends and fam.

Timings: 8 AM to 11 PM

Mahesh Lunch Home

Mahesh Lunch Home is where you need to head to get your fill of seafood and Mangalore cuisine. We recommend their thalis, with the fish thali being our go-to order. If you are going in a large group, we recommend the Chicken Ghee Roast, Chicken Sukha, Mangalore Mutton Gasi, and any of the fish specials.

Timings: 12 Noon to 11:30 PM

Kartik’s Mithai Shoppe

Our Sunday breakfast spot, whenever we are craving chole bhature, Kartik’s chole is one of the best in Bangalore. They are so good, you need to, in fact, pre-order them. You can’t just saunter in on a Sunday and hope to get a plate. But apart from their breakfast, it’s also our go-to place for 4 PM snacks. Their samosas and sev puri are our favourites. Luckily, all these are available without any pre-order all day, every day.

Timings: 9 AM to 10:30 PM

Nagarjuna

Andhra meals, biryani and Nagarjuna Roast – three of our favourite orders here. They open service for lunch, and you might need to wait a bit since it’s almost like the whole of Indiranagar has decided to have their lunch here. Their Andhra meals are carbs heavy and their pappu is to die for. And we love how easy they are with their servings of ghee!

Timings: 12 Noon to 3:45 PM and 7 PM to 10:45 PM

Copper & Cloves Cafe

At The Organic World Store, this tiny space serves vegan fare with a focus on clean, healthy eating. You must try Copper & Cloves' Tartines and cookies (or desserts). Using locally sourced, organic ingredients, you might sometimes get a chance to sample their experiments too. The space is pet- and work-friendly too.

Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM

Infinitea

One of the few places that focus on the experience of drinking tea in all its forms, Infinitea has indoor and outdoor seating options. Enjoy the calming and multisensory process of brewing tea, whether it's an exotic herbal blend, kadak chai, or Kombucha. They even have food pairings with their teas.

Timings: 12 Noon to 11 PM

Toit

Always the favourite in Indiranagar, and perhaps in Bangalore, Toit is for all your craft beers, Bangalore vibes and pizza. But you knew that already. Did you know that they also have a breakfast menu all day, which includes healthy juices, smoothies, pancakes, waffles and more? Plus, since their sister restaurant, The Permit Room, closed, they’ve added part of that menu here. So, go get your Haleem Samosas, Kerala Beef Fry, Okra Podi Chips and Chilli Cheese Bhajjis.

Timings: 8:30 AM to 1 AM

Bob’s Bar

End of the month? Bob’s has you covered! No, really, they have local as well as international brands at just a little above MRP. Yes, it’s noisy, and always full pretty much, but the dive bar vibe is intentional. Food is essentially bar snacks with a South Indian twist, and great to share!

Timings: 11:30 AM to 1 AM

Milano Ice Cream

Gelato lovers! Milano has every flavour you can imagine and then some. Made fresh, the flavours change every few days. From Red Wine and Bacardi Limon sorbets to Kinder Joy and Raspberry Cheesecake options, there’s a flavour for everyone. Ice cream cakes, other desserts and coffee are available here.

Timings: 8 AM to 11 PM

Corner House Ice Cream

No experience in Bangalore is complete without at least considering Corner House. Delighting Bangaloreans for 40 years now, their sundaes are a must-try (or anything with their signature chocolate sauce). Their seasonal specials, whether it's with strawberries, mangoes, or peaches, are reminiscent of old Bangalore.

Timings: 11 AM to 11:30 PM

Kopitiam Lah

Touted to be the city's (and country's) first Malaysian eatery, Kopitiam Lah serves up Malaysian classics that include Hainese Steam Eggs, Char Kway Teow, Kaya Toast, and Kopi. They initially opened only for breakfast, but now have expanded to serving lunch and dinner. They already have a loyal fan following with some of the little birdies we know, having frequented the place more than 10 times. Apart from breakfast, their lunch staples include Rendang and Nasi Lemak. Oh and they do Hainanese Chicken Rice on Fridays. Don't miss out on their bakery goodies that include Egg Tarts and Rendang Puffs.

Timings: 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM

Smash Guys

Smash Guys, the new burger joint in Bangalore, serves up smash burgers, thick shakes, and loaded desserts in a true American diner-style way. They already have a huge following thanks to their Burger Residency at the Conservatory before opening. Of the burgers, we recommend Oklahoma Smash, 8 Hr. Braised Brisket, and Nashville Chicken. Definitely load up on the Deep Fried Oreos and Old Monk Chocolate Mousse.

Timings: 11 AM to 11:30 PM

LBB Tip: Read more about Smash Guys here.

Pizza 4PS

The Vietnam-based pizza chain's first outlet in Bangalore (and India) serves up Japanese-Italian pizza made with in-house cheese. The Salmon Miso pizza, Crab Tomato Cream Spaghetti, Yakitori Chicken pizza, and Tokyo Chicken Curry pizza are our go-to orders. They are quite tricky when it comes to reservations, but they do offer walk-ins.

Timings: 12 noon to 11:30 PM

Thai Basil

Our go-to spot for Thai food in Indiranagar, Thai Basil has been dishing out Bangkok, Isan, and Northern Thai-style food for years now. The space is small, but the menu is expansive, and there’s always something different to try. Unless you are like us who order Basi Chicken with Rice and Fried Egg, Thai Green Curry, and Pad Thai.

Timings: 12 Noon to 11 PM

Esplanade

Esplanade transports you to Kolkata and they serve authentic Bengali food with dishes such as the Aam Pora Shorbot, Mocha Ghanta, Daab Chingri, Ilish Vapa, and Bhetki Paturi with gorom bhaat being some of the top dishes. Their annual Pujo menu and their seasonal Cabin menu are something that we look forward to. It really feels like you are pandhal hopping!

Timings: 12 noon to 3 PM and 7 PM to 10:30 PM

Hidden Gems

Every area has its own little hidden gems that only folks in that area know, but we are letting you in on Indiranagar's hidden gems below!

Lokesh Vada Pav & Pav Bhaji

It's a street cart near the CMH Park that serves some of the best vada pavs and pav bhaji we’ve had. They satisfy all our street food cravings and their vada pavs are available in regular, plain or go all-out with the greasy, cheesy (or buttery) options.

Timings: 4 PM to 10 PM

Pots & Pans

From a variety of basic spoons to inbuilt ovens and much-needed rolling pins to kitchen chimneys, you get everything at Pots & Pans. We have picked up so much stuff from here and the staff really knows how to pick the right kind of kitchenware for you. They do offer discounts from time to time so be sure to ask.

Timings: 10 AM to 9 PM

E-Studio

E-Studio is a haven for antiques, trinkets, and collectibles and even if you don’t have the budget for it (prices start at INR 2,000), you can still browse around. And find stuff and maybe save up for it later? We found knight’s helmets, Grandmaster chess sets, and pirate ships in bottles.
