Weddings in India are a grand affair. It is a mammoth celebration that takes over a year or more to plan and execute. A major part of any wedding, apart from food, of course, is the clothes. Nowadays, it's not just the bride who frets over what to wear, which designer to rep, and whom to contact. I have seen several bridesmaid-zillas go even crazier on what outfits to wear for each of the wedding events, ensuring none of it is replicated but is still trendy.

From colour palettes and blouse designs to makeup aesthetics, there's a lot to think of and if you are a 2025 bride or bridesmaid, or even if you are team groom, you need to stay on top of what's hot in 2025 weddings, so you can dress to impress. We did the homework for you and spoke to Siddhartha Bansal, a fashion designer whose pieces thrive on intentional defiance. His work exudes jewel tones and metallic accents, and is super predictive of a 2025 bride's closet. So we asked him the wedding fashion trends of 2025 and here's everything you should include in your wedding ensemble.

Trending Fabrics To Don In 2025 Weddings

Tulle and organza: Light, floaty, and dreamy—tulle and organza bring that fairytale flair with fullness, volume and dimension, even in coloured pastels like blush or dove, creating every bride's dream ensemble.

Crepe and georgette: Smooth, matte, and subtly stretchy—crepe and georgette are the go‑to for minimalist contemporary gowns that hug the figure while offering comfort.

Silk taffeta and velvet: Heavy, luxurious, and sculptural, a combination of silk (shine) and velvet (matte) is back for creating bold, architectural gowns, lehengas with serious poise.

Trending Blouse Designs For Brides In 2025

Corset blouse will be making another round in 2025, with more elevated textures, embroideries and details. Modern bride do not shy away from flaunting their curves and embracing comfort with vogue. Another big trend I see is a paneled blouse with deeper cuts, embodied with various textiles and Indian crafts. Almost making them modern bohemian and timeless at the same time. All panels will be carefully drafted to accentuate the torse for the free-spirited bride of modern times.

Trending Wedding Colour Of 2025

Red. Absolutely red. Red is timeless when it comes to the bridal ensemble. It will never go out of trend as red has a much deeper symbolic meaning associated with women since the colour was first discovered by the human race. For a more unconventional look, multi-colour lehengas are going to be a big trend to give a maximalist statement to the bridal look.

Fashion Statements That Will Dominate Wedding Ceremonies In 2025

Each wedding function today feels like a chance to express a different facet of your personality. At our label, we’re seeing brides and wedding guests lean into vibrant colour, joyful prints, and easy yet impactful silhouettes. For haldi, it’s all about sunshine tones, breezy fabrics, and outfits that allow you to move and celebrate freely. Sangeet looks are bolder: think statement blouses, flowing skirts, and rich textures that sparkle under the lights. Roka and mehendi are becoming more intimate and experimental, where fusion pieces, cape overlays, and Indo-bohemian elements really shine. Overall, the mood is expressive, artful and deeply personal; no two looks feel the same, and that’s the beauty of it.

What Do 2025 Brides Want From Fashion Designers

Brides today want to feel seen, not just dressed up. They’re leaning toward pieces that reflect who they are. We’re seeing a lot of interest in layered lehengas with sheer organza, intricate panel work, and corset-inspired blouses that flatter the form but feel easy to wear. Colour is also being reimagined, red will always have its place, but now it sits alongside burnt orange, fuchsia, blues, and even multi-coloured pieces that tell a story. Capes, fringes, and mix-and-match are also coming in, but with refinement.

What Are Some Wedding Trends That Will Die In 2025?

There’s definitely been a shift in how people approach bridal and occasion wear now. Brides are done with feeling weighed down, both literally and stylistically. Super heavy lehengas with too much embroidery and stiff silhouettes are being replaced by lighter, more breathable ensembles that allow for movement and fun. The era of overly coordinated looks is also phasing out. Instead, there’s a move toward thoughtfully curated pieces — a pop of colour here, an unexpected blouse cut there —that feel more personal. In our work, we’re always aiming to design garments that are as comfortable as they are striking. You should feel like yourself, just the most celebrated, elevated version.

Homegrown Designers Who Are Standing Out In 2025 Fashion Landscape

We’re in a really exciting place right now where Indian designers are telling stories that are both rooted and refreshingly modern. At our studio, we’ve continued to explore the relationship between bold prints, handcrafted details, and contemporary cuts. It’s been heartening to see people connect with that aesthetic. I’ve always admired the way Tarun Tahiliani blends tradition with structure and movement, or how Ritu Kumar’s work continues to echo India’s textile history. Anita Dongre is creating beautiful, wearable pieces that feel timeless yet relevant. What sets today’s Indian designers apart is that we’re not afraid to celebrate heritage while pushing the envelope and that energy is what makes this space so alive right now.
