Kasol in Himachal Pradesh is a haven for backpackers, nature lovers, and those seeking an escape from the urban grind. This charming village offers a unique blend of tranquility, adventure, and a vibrant hippie culture. Beyond Kasol itself, several captivating destinations beckon travelers to explore the surrounding region.

Best Time To Visit: The summer months are quite pleasant to visit Kasol, March through June. If you'd like to witness the snowfall, then visit sometime in December to February.

How To Reach

By Air: Kasol isn’t very accessible by air but if you still wish to fly the nearest airport would be Kullu Manali Airport, also known as Bhuntar Airport, which is about 30 km away from Kasol. You'll have to take a private cab from there to reach your destination. 

By Road: One of the best ways to reach Kasol is by bus. You can easily find tickets online. If you live in Delhi, you'll find a direct bus that costs you somewhere around INR 1,200 to 1,500. Be extremely careful if you choose to drive, as driving uphill can be tricky and dangerous. 

By Train: Joginder Nagar Railway Station is the nearest station to Kasol, about 144 km away. You'll have to take a shared or private cab from here to Kasol.

Kasol Market

Whenever we're in a new place, we're always super excited to find out what the local market has to offer. This is because we can bring home unique items that end up becoming memories from our trip. Kasol market isn’t that huge, it has a few lanes where you'll find winterwear, hemp bags, souvenirs, sunglasses, jewellery and the likes. The people are quite welcoming and will chit-chat with you to tell you the hidden gems of the place. You'll also find salons here that make braids and add all sorts of embellishments to your hair. You'll spot one or a few German bakeries here and we've been told that you need to try the Bhagsu cake here.

Off Limits Coffee: Hemp Based Cafe

For a unique place to eat, head to Off Limits Coffee. Off Limits is advertised as India's first hemp-based cafe. It's located on the banks of the Parvati River, so the view is great and you get to enjoy the sound of the gushing river while you eat food. They serve Italian, Indian and Middle Eastern Food. We've heard that their classic burger, paneer steak and coffee are quite good.

Chalal Village

Kasol is all about roaming around and exploring the place on foot, and Chalal Trek is one of the trails you can opt for that is pretty beginner-friendly. The trek is only about 2 to 4 kilometres and can be done in only a couple of hours. You'll be greeted with lush greenery and the gushing river. While not personally experienced, we've heard that Chalal is also one of the partying hubs of Himachal Pradesh and has seasonal rave parties. 

Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara And Hot Springs

Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara is one of the holy places to visit in Kasol. This pilgrimage is located on the river Parvati at an altitude of 1760 m. This place is sacred to Hindus and Sikhs, and you can visit it not only for a peaceful time but also for the hot springs. People usually enjoy taking a dip in the hot waters, but in all honesty, it can be a little crowded and uncomfortable. 

Kheer Ganga

If you're new to trekking and are looking for a relatively easy hike, then Kheer Ganga is what should be on your itinerary. Kheer Ganga is the last village in Parvati Valley and is located about 12 km from Kasol. This one is an easy one-day trek. You're likely to meet many tourists, villagers and cute dogs on your way.

Parvati River
