Anuja Marudgan Khare, founder of Ikigai Studio, is an architect and designer who has curated her Pune home with love and a lot of hard work. From finding local vendors to discovering artisans in Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur and Jodhpur, everything you see in Anuja's home, Kavyam, is made in India. The 50-year-old bungalow, which has been passed down through generations, is a perfect blend of contemporary aesthetic with regional and cultural elements. The result is a home that's warm, elegant and personalised.

Earthy tones, natural textures and clean lines dominate the house. You can find pichwai paintings, hand-painted wallpapers, a swing in the living room, Anuja's Lego collections and a fragrance cabinet all blending in to create a sanctuary that inspires. The highlights include a red-brick wall in the living room, meditation room and her workspace (aka the Ikigai Studio) — all of which align with her aesthetic.
