Pan Asian food has made the biggest waves in India. From Korean restaurants to Japanese serving the silkiest ramen bowls, to grills and delectables, it truly doesn't get better than this. And being folks who love to eat (pray, and love), we'd happily worship the best Pan Asian places India has to offer. That is why, as part of The Mega List by LBB we turned to Chef Kavan Kuttappa from Naru — a fine ramen place in Banaglore that also made it to #17 on India's best restaurants of 2024, to tell us about the best Pan Asian places in India.

Bangalore

China Pearl

One of the oldest Chinese restaurants in town, Koramangala. Serves up some really old school fare consistently delivering over the last few decades.

Price: INR 1,300 for two

Timings: 12 PM to 3:15 PM, 7 PM to 10:45 PM


Yauatcha

One of the more OG cantonese style spaces that's a very frequented place for me, best prawn cheung fun and a great deal on the tasting menu.

Price: INR 3,000 for two

Timings: 12 PM to 10:30 PM

Khawa Karpo

 A college favorite, hole in the wall shop, again in Koramangla, best buff momos, also very good thenthuk.

Price: INR 350 for two

Timings: 12:30 PM to 10 PM

Thai Basil

A long standing chain, where I used to visit on brigade road, now moved to Indranagar; Highly recommend, a squid stir fry and menu item 106 - both noodle soups.

Zhangs Chinese Restaurant

Been eating here for the last two decades. I go for the fried wantons, and the danmien.

Azuki

Neighbourhood kitchen for the best Japanese food, extensive menu and great service. 

Price: INR 1,800 for two

Mumbai


Izumi

One of the first spaces I used to visit consistently for their ramen and really good sashimi.

Price: INR 3,400 for two

Seefah

Visited for the first time for some of the Thai food, and their honey toast. But a regular now for their Khao man gai.

Mizu

Most technical Japanese space I have been to in Mumbai, also the most innovative and always coming up with the first and best concepts in India with regards to Japanese cuisine.

Gypsy Kitchen

Oldest most OG Chinese restaurant. Extensive menu, with different styles of Chinese cuisine. Steamed wontons and spare ribs.

Royal China

Another old school Chinese restaurant which is a staple in Mumbai, I've ordered take out from here and its always hit the spot.

Burma Burma

Vegetarian Burmese restaurant that has grown so tremendously, and kept in tune with its ethics of sourcing indigenous ingredients from Burma and is constantly wowing customers with its offering.

Timings: 11:30 PM to 3 PM, 5:30 PM to 10 PM

Delhi

Zuru Zuru

Again one of the home grown space, specialising in ramen and does some of the most experimental bowls in the country. Litchi cold ramen was spectacular in the summer.

Long Finish

Always partial to ramen spots and this one hits the spot, located in Galleria market and serving a few different styles of ramen. Great spot for pork tonkotsu.

Yak Kitchen

One of the first few spaces i ate in Delhi, best Tibetan fare with a  regional menu spread. Loved everything I ate.
